In the Autumn/Winter 2009-2010 season we become witnesses to a new fashion epos from Alena Akhmadullina – a fearless and invincible warrior of style. If earlier the Saint Petersburg designer simply translated Russian tales into the language of high fashion, this time she devises her own legends, taking as her mystical co-author the genius of Russian literature – A. S. Pushkin. Using his works as her key source of inspiration, Alena Akhmadullina creates an absolutely fresh, fierce and unconquerable pleiad of warrior-like beauties.

In the new season Alena Akhmadullina raises high the flag of her independence and issues a collection filled with protest. Her new work is built on the strong and independent image of a woman as conqueror. The heroine of her new season is armored in tweed, fur, and cashmere – within which she feels confident and protected. The daring combinations of forms and volumes speak about a great force of spirit and an unapproachable disposition. She is decisive and persistent, assured in herself and ready for battle. Where ever she goes, victory and success await her.

She is always triumphant – as if on a horse, her dresses are decorated with mane and strands of brown, dark blue and red hair, imitating the tails of animals. Some outfits are completely embellished in curls, which flow along the entirety of the silhouette, forming the mysterious and playful image of a woman from another dimension.

In her new collection, Alena Akhmadullina uses diametrically opposite fabrics: combining wool with light chiffon, and dense tweed with flowing silk. Her heroine is woven with these contradictions: she aims to be strong, and at the same time perceives herself very delicate and feminine at heart. Therefore, she at times unapproachable and at others, jovial and light: from under heavy, bulky coats fall clusters of elegant silk belts and bows, as if escaping from the soul of poetic and romantic creature. Voluminous shoulders and strict silhouettes only emphasize the concealed sexuality and grace of the female figure.

The complex color palette gives the collection an unprecedented chic. The rich range of colors spills with deep shades of green, cherry, brown, dark blue, and mustard, in some places diluted with blue, white, and cream.

This year, Alena Akhmadullina allows for the daring combinations of not only colors, but forms. Her clothing is saturated with volumetric components on the shoulders and lapels of jackets, which transform into geometric polygons, smoothly transitioning into the lines of the arms. Convex folds on the skirts and trousers elegantly emphasize the waist, forming additional volume on the thighs.

The strong will and iron nature of the Alena Akhmadullina's heroine bring her numerous gifts. In the new season, the trophies of battle include refined adornments for the hair, and foot-wear on a massive platform, imitating the hooves of horses.

The new collection from Alena Akhmadullina is a narrative about the force of the spirit, iron will and independence. It is created especially for the strong and daring woman, not knowing defeat, proudly displaying the banner of victory - regardless of the circumstances.
