A new Top 10!
Excluding France, with home-grown visitors generating an increase
of 6%, Italy remains the show’s top-ranked country of origin.
Spain has been overtaken by Germany and the UK, which both
recorded growth of 20% in comparison to last year. Major Japanese, Russian and American accounts were closely monitored for this new Paris session. Despite international exchange being hampered by the fall of the dollar and oil barrel prices, US visitors to Mode City declined by only 1%. The Netherlands’ 11th position in Mode City’s visitor rankings is also worth noting, with growth of 35% in comparison to Lyon. A 22% increase was achieved for the Middle East and 16% for Eastern European countries.

Mode City 2008 has fulfilled its objectives:
MODE CITY, radically higher calibre of visitors
Visitor numbers from the key sectors targeted have increased with lingerie and
beachwear retailers on the one hand and ready-to-wear retailers on the other
– an important point which also demonstrates the synergies between ready-towear
and beachwear.

(MDs, sales managers, buying managers, collection managers, etc.).
