Witnessing the end of a prosperous century, Edgar Degas, stands out as the most nonconformist artist among the impressionists. Having no illusions about the "bonne société", modern and determined, he turns towards the world of entertainment, particularly to ballet. Jasmin Santanen takes a particular interest in this expressive world by delivering us a collection in three acts and without a final. The collection invites us to experience the simplicity of the artist's atelier translated by a loose, wide painter's shirt. It brings us backstage, where the corps de ballet is translated in tulle and mouseline, classics of Jasmin Santanen, and corseted skirts and dresses combined to high, stiff collar blouses. Evening silhouettes glitter next to deep off shoulder neckline dresses, fitted waist and voluminous sleeve detailed garments. The dandy elegance of the period is playfully declined in feminine for tuxedos, redingotes and for silk blouses with meticulous bow ties.
