Fall/Winter 2012-13 collection's inspirations : Water Metamorphosis...

This woman embodies a hitchcockian heroin, an enigmatic, dangerous and impenetrable modern Grace Kelly. Cold and sculptural silhouette that is showed thanks to a very architectural volume for day wear and cocktails, and more evanescent for the evening, draped in a light mousseline with iced and silver reflects as a faded appearance.

Water, illusionist finery as fleeting than limpid that is streaming along the body, its furrows are just underlining that enchanting silhouette's curves sailing between two Cold beauty with a sharping look as ice, that rampart with crystalline sparkles that draws its strength only in the fragility of its element...

Manish Arora Autumn Winter 2012-13 Collection

Urban landscapes, subversive art and sculpted silhouettes: Manish Arora has skilfully blended these influences in a collection that is rich with contrasts, boasting experimental and intricate handiwork. The theme of paradox underpins the collection, with surreal images superimposed onto sumptuous fabrics, urban backdrops pervaded by flowers and leaves, and demure 1950's silhouettes adorned with street art.

Arora has drawn on the surreal and deconstructed iconography of Brooklyn-based street artist, Judith Supine, melding fragmented figures and faces in luminescent shades with fluid prints. A brick wall, the graffiti artist's canvas, references the subversive and striking work of Parisian graffiti artists Rude, Vizion and Broke. A playful note is introduced with a nod to the fantastical and vibrant designs of Pin Ball games.

The collection's foundation lies in the meticulous experimentation of techniques and handiwork, with an opulent and luxurious finish. Laser-cut etched suede and leather are handcrafted into creepers, leaves, feathers and flowers that are embellished on the garment in innovative ways to complete the collection.

The collection exudes elegance reminiscent of the 1950's, with structured silhouettes, such as flared dresses nipped in at the waist and box pleat skirts hugging the body in semi-cocoon shapes. Chic voluminous jackets, boleros, trench coats and blouses are embellished with striking neck, shoulder and back detailing focusing on the beauty of the feminine form.

The urban theme is built on through a denim range featuring jeans and distressed black leather in an ongoing collaboration between Manish Arora and Notify.

The colour palette is simple with blacks, emerald greens, sapphire blues elevated by jolts of deep purples, brick reds, fuchsia pinks, and psychedelic neons. The collection incorporates a rich mix of fabrics such as silk, velvet, suede, leather, silk satin, crepe and beautiful Scandinavian Saga Furs.

The shoes featured on the runway are made in collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood and Pollini, with embroideries designed by Manish. The innovative eyewear is made in collaboration with Inspecs.
