Eric Musgrave Leaves DRAPERS To Join IDENTITY PR

PPA Award-winning Editorial Director Eric Musgrave is to
leave Drapers to join London-based Identity PR as a partner

Eric Musgrave has been in charge of editorial on Emap's fashion business weekly for six years. He was responsible for merging the weekly Drapers Record (founded 1887) and the monthly Menswear (founded 1902) in October 2002 to create Drapers, which is one of Emap's most consistently successful B2B titles.

He won the PPA Business and Professional Magazine Editor of the Year Award and was also named Emap Communications' Editor of the Year in 2003. Drapers was Emap Communications' Relaunch of the Year for 2003 and its Magazine of the Year for 2004. Eric has spent much of his time developing Drapers' brand extensions such as The Drapers Awards, The Drapers Footwear Awards and a programme of conferences.

Musgrave began his career on Drapers Record (then owned by Thomson Magazines) in 1980. Over the years he has held senior positions on the fashion business titles Menswear, MAB News, International Textiles (Amsterdam), Fashion Weekly and Sportswear International (Milan). In 1984-85 he was also the launch editor of pioneering men's style title For Him, which later became FHM.

Identity PR was founded in 1997 by Sharon Good and Katie Thomas, who Musgrave will be joining as Director and co-shareholder. The agency is well established within the luxury sector incorporating fashion and travel pr / marketing. In addition Identity has a growing sales representation division.

Says Musgrave: "I have had a happy and fulfilling time at Drapers, but Identity PR offers me an irresistible opportunity to help develop a business with like-minded people. I have known Sharon and Katie for many years and, apart from liking them personally, I have always been impressed by their integrity and professionalism. We will make an excellent team."

At Identity PR, Musgrave will be developing a portfolio of key fashion industry clients to work with in a number of related areas, including press relations, marketing, contract publishing, advertising, events and fashion agency sales.

"We are delighted to have Eric Musgrave join Identity PR" say Sharon and Katie. "He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in a market place that is key to our business. Eric will be making an important and significant contribution to our senior management team which will enable Identity PR to further develop its client base and the services we offer. Today the marketing matrix is more integrated than ever, and while clients can buy into any one of our services, our strengths will be in implementing vertical marketing campaigns."
