Seoul Collection Fall 2007

Korean Designers show collections at Seoul Fashion Week
and Hallyu Fashion Festival

The Seoul Fashion Week Fall 2007 was held at Seoul Trade Exhibition Center (SETEC) from 19. until 26.October.
Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and co-sponsored by the Seoul Business Agency (Seoul Fashion Center, SFC), the Korea Fashion Association, New Wave in Seoul (NWS) and Korea Fashion Designers Association (KFDA), the main focus of this year's event was 'Seoul Collection', presenting the trends for Spring/Summer 2008.
Thirty-five leading domestic designers displayed their fashion designs featuring creativity and uniqueness. A New-Generation Designers' Collection and Hallyu Fashion Festival was also held.

The event started on Friday with the men's wear collections and was followed by the women's wear on Monday.

NWS president and designer Park Choon-moo showed her collection with dynamic taping and patchwork skills, dramatic and dreamy, inspired by the moon.

Lee Young-hee, a renowned hanbok designer, combined the characteristics of the traditional Korean costume with european characteristics to create a new hanbok style.

Some more designers : Park Eun-kyung, Heo Ha-na, Lee Eun-jung, they all showcased their collections to the audience which included also buyers and journalists from abroad.
The next Seoul Fashion Week is planned for March, 2008.

Hallyu Fashion Festival

The festival, which was held on 21.October, is intended to promote the Korean fashion industry and designers. The show was organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and hosted by the Seoul Business Agency and Seoul Fashion Center (SFC). Top designers like Han Seung-soo, Yang Sung-sook, An Yoon Jung, Hwang Jae-bock, Lim Hyun-hee and Park Hye-rin showed their Fall/Winter collections at the Festival.

It took place at the center of Seoul - at the Seoul Plaza, in front of City Hall. Numberless, young people enjoyed the music and fashion talk as well as the fashion show (by coming-up designers). Young Seoul people were heated !

Hallyu Fashion Festival

The reason for that was rather the high number of hallyu celebrities like Choi Ji-woo or Sung Si-kyung who acted as models than the fashion designers.
Hallyu is an expression for the korean wave, which does not only comprise the Korean popular music (K-pop) but also films and alike.
