Patricia Avendano Collection 2010

Patricia Avendano presented GLAMOUR, her new Bridal and Cocktail collection for 2010 at the Pasarela Gaudi Novias last year as part of the 19th edition of the prestigious Barcelona Bridal Week.

The Galician Company revealed its elegant, glamorous proposals for wedding and cocktail dresses backed by the unbeatable setting of the Salon Noviaespania, the show that is a point of reference in the bridal sector and which brings together more than 200 companies. This edition was the ninth one that Patricia Avendano attended as an exhibiting firm.

In an unforgettable way and supported by her innate personal taste, Patricia Avendano consolidates herseif, with each collection, as a unique creator in a segment that is saturated by points of reference and styles, in which it is almost impossible to discover a different language. However, throughout her career, Patricia Avendano has not only made herseif an important niche in the saturated sector but she has also become one of the reference companies in it, with her creations being clearly different from the rest.

"The way in which you opproximate yourself to fashion goes through many stages, from the dream to the Suggestion, from the sketch on paper to the mannequin, it is a road that is offen interminable. Yves Saint-Laurent said that his main source of inspiration consisted of placing the whole roll of material on the mannequin and then working on it. The same thing happens to me, it is the preliminary phase for any design, studying the fabric and its texture, its fall, the colour,... " the designer stated.

GLAMOUR is the term that Patricia Avendano feels best describes this new collection, which is made up of creations in which the design and the fabrics are combined to obtain the best results.

There is a common denominator in all her dresses, a particular essence that differentiates and highlights them, but within this philosophy, in which the quality of the dressmaking and the care taken in the selection of fabrics is vital, there is a feeling of plurality that makes them appeal to a different public.

They are elegant, carefully worked on lines which are, at the same time, simple and pure, in which she seeks to highlight the femininity of a woman as much as possible.
Patricia Avendano selects the fabrics that are used in each collection with the greatest rigour. To do this, her buying team travel the world in search of this raw material as if they were searching for the Holy Grail. From gauzes to silk crepes, organdies, muslins, brocades, all kinds of natural silks, they are all testimonies to sumptuous, rare perfection. They are fabrics that require being treated with great care, with knowledge about their weight, their texture, their reactions to the delicate vegetable dyes to which they will be subjected in the completely traditional way to achieve the desired tones.
