The increasing number of international visitors to Interfilière and Lyon, mode city confirms the trend for globalisation in the lingerie and beachwear sector. Unmissable events for the industry as a whole, these two shows offer unique opportunities and perspectives for development.
The Key figures : For the two shows, this represents a 7.6% increase in international visitors, compensating the drop in French visitors and raising the percentage of foreign visitors from 57% to 62% of total attendance. A higher number of international visitors could be seen at both Interfilière and Lyon, mode city where the leading upstream specialists and major retailers from each different country were represented. It is worth underlining the excellent level of visitor traffic at Interfilière, which never decreased during the three days.
The results reflect evolutions in the French market, especially the concentration of
distribution channels (small-scale retailers have lost market shares to specialist chain stores
and mass-market retailers over the last few years). Finally, it is important to underline the presence of all the French department stores and major accounts at the shows.
Key points for 2006 The city of Lyon, the "Grand Lyon" and the Tourist Office were particularly supportive of this discovery-focused approach. To coincide with the shows, we were able to offer exclusive access to the Musée des Tissus et des Arts Décoratifs de Lyon for a private viewing of the wonderful Léonard exhibition, yet another source of inspiration.
Additional highlights Maryan Mehlhorn marked its 30th birthday with a celebration of femininity and the presence of Miss France 2005, Cindy Fabre. Gottex and Léonisa each celebrated their fiftieth birthdays. The Happy Hours allowed Lise Charmel and Millesia to showcase their collections, Jolidon to launch its new exclusive “Prélude” brand and Marlies Dekkers to celebrate its return to Lyon, mode city. Finally, the Summer Party in the evening of Saturday 2nd September provided an opportunity for the industry as a whole to mingle in a festive and laid-back atmosphere, much appreciated by all. This soirée combined relaxation and networking, with lounge areas and a dance floor, taking guests on a tour of the world’s most legendary beaches. A successful and fun event, it left a lasting impression on the weavers, brands, buyers and journalists present.
