2009 Highlights: business & fashion

New version of the Trends Forum: for the first time, Eurovet is offering a veritable exercise in style created by two design agencies who have been asked to translate two trends from the Evolution Trends Book. Nelly Rodi will interpret Baroque Obsession while Promostyl provides its take on Bio-Glamour.

Trends for Autumn/Winter 2009/10:
- Bio-glamour (cocooning chic),
- Baroque Decadence (seduction with a twist),
- Contemporary Obsession (the aesthetics culture).

The Franchise Focus has been reinforced and developed for 2009
The programme includes:
- meetings with brands seeking to develop their retail networks, in the form of a "Market-specific Tour",
- dedicated conferences offering an overview and insight into this retail channel,

- a zone featuring French and international franchise expertise, coordinated by Ac-Franchise (FRANCE), l'Observatoire de la Franchise (FRANCE), Deloshop (RUSSIA) and AZ Franchising (ITALY).

20 conferences over 4 days. Each day covers a particular theme:
Sunday 18th January: The "Best-ofs" (the season's most talented young designers, top fabrics, etc.)
Monday 19th January: Retail Focus (Retailers of the year: a Europe-wide tour of those who are ringing the changes in store, Why opt for Franchising and how does it work?...)
Tuesday 20th January: International Focus, placing Poland in the spotlight, as well as a look at the United Arab Emirates and India ...
Wednesday 21st January: Trends Focus: coordinated by the different 'lingerie' design offices

Ultra-Lingerie Catwalk show will be "good enough to eat"
On Monday 19th January 2009 at 7.00pm in Pavillon 1 Eurovet will be offering a deliciously decadent celebration of Ultra-Gourmandise with 60 prototypes created jointly by international brands and fabrics specialists. The catwalk show will be followed by a Networking soirée bringing together all the key players in the lingerie industry. A jury consisting of professionals from the lingerie and gastronomy sectors will decide which three prototypes deserve the Ultra-Gourmandise Award, Fabrics Award and the Jury's Special Prize. The Audience Award will also be elected directly by the 1,000 privileged guests (by invitation only).

Commitments for 2009

Whoman ? The Salon International de la Lingerie is creating a veritable art gallery and offering eight international artists a platform via the Whoman ? exhibition, organised by Exposed for the duration of the show. The theme of the exhibition is contemporary femininity. Opening: 7.00pm on 18th January 2009, Pavillon 1, Be Spicy Zone, by invitation only.

EUROVET is supporting Unicef within the framework of the "Frimousses" Designer Doll operation and is mobilized alongside fashion designers and artists. This year, the doll created by the Italian fashion house Paladini - winner of the Ultra-Modernity Award in 2008 - will be auctioned on behalf of Unicef at the Espace Drouot on 27th November.

Official launch of an ethical film at the Salon International de la Lingerie: the UK brand Eco-Boudoir, exhibiting at Be Spicy, has produced a film tackling the issues facing luxury and ethics, in partnership with the BBC. It will be shown on the BBC in December 2008.
