BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK 2009From 9 to 14 June, Gran Vía Precinct (Fira Barcelona)
| |
With excellent figures for participation and media impact, BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK is looking forward to its 19th show with great optimism. The event, which has been consolidated as the most important shop window of bridal fashion and has become a clear international point of reference for the sector, will be held from 9 to 14 June 2009 in the Fira Barcelona Gran Vía Precinct. The week of bridal fashion will once again be composed of the GAUDÍ BRIDES FASHION PARADES, which will take place from 9 to 12 June, and the NOVIAESPAÑA International Trade Fair, which will be open from 12 to 14 June. Again, the event will take place in the Gran Via Precinct, in the new pavilion 8. With the extensive supply of high quality services making it one of the most modern trade fair areas in Europe, this venue has become the ideal setting in which to develop a new concept of Trade Fair, modern and adapted to the needs of a sector in which Spain holds second place as an exporting country at world level.
BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK will continue the successful combination of a fashion
parade, unique in the genre, and a trade fair with a profile directed towards a
creative and quality offer, with strong foreign representation. The first four
days will be reserved for the GAUDÍ BRIDES FASHION PARADES, in which once again
there will be designers of worldwide reputation and top level casting.
The most relevant companies in the sector have While most of the sectors are suffering from the devastating effects of the current economic situation, the Barcelona show has resisted the crisis thanks to the fidelity of its exhibitors, visitors and specialised press which, every year, attend the BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK and its two main events. So far, more than a hundred high and medium-high firms have confirmed their participation at the show and if the contracting follows this sharp pace, we foresee that we will exceed the figures of the 2008 edition, which had 136 companies and more than 200 brands. This growth is the result of the support and confidence in the sector that BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK has renewed in each edition since it was created in 1991.

In the international arena, foreign participation continues to be a notable feature. On this occasion, there will be exhibitions from companies in Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Holland, England, Italy, Lebanon and Portugal, confirming the importance of the show as an intense, dynamic centre for business and commercial contacts for professionals the world over. The 2008 edition enjoyed a foreign presence of 40%, with an increase of 2% on the previous year.
From a qualitative point of view, NOVIAESPAÑA will once again be a special place
in which purchasers from all over the world will find out, first hand, about the
new trends in fabrics, colours and fashion lines for brides, grooms, ceremonies,
communions and accessories.
Pasarela Gaudí Novias, an encounter with creativity Four intense days of parades which will enjoy the presence of great names in the world of bridal creation, staunch supporters of the PASARELA GAUDÍ NOVIAS since its beginnings, with the addition of new figures in bridal design. This platform, which has become a point of reference for specialist magazines from every continent, will show how designers use all their ingenuity and creativity to offer new, interesting proposals, year after year. With all these plans, an experience of more than 18 years and after an ascending phase of development and international expansion, we can confirm that BARCELONA BRIDAL WEEK has the maturity that positions it as the most important world meeting for the sector. Evidence of this is the commitment that companies and purchasers successfully renew each year, thus verifying the attraction and singularity of Barcelona as the international capital of Bridal Fashion.
